How does ShelterBox USA respond domestically?

In 2025, Los Angeles experienced the most destructive wildfires in the city’s history. ShelterBox USA committed a $100,000 matching grant to Rotary Districts 5280 and 5300 to support the shelter and household needs in the hardest-hit areas. Following the destruction, ShelterBox USA has provided  hundreds of LuminAID Solar Lights, distributed 1,000 air purifiers donated by Intellipure, and other basic essential items to the most vulnerable people affected with support from Amazon Disaster Relief.

ShelterBox is proud to be Rotary’s official disaster relief partner. To assist with the devastating impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024, ShelterBox USA committed a $100,000 match grant to the Rotary Zone 33 and 34 Disaster Recovery Fund. In addition to this matching grant, ShelterBox USA enabled the direct delivery of essential aid — water, shelter, and hygiene kits — to the hardest-hit areas thanks to our partnerships with Amazon Disaster, FedEx Cares, and Berkshire Blankets.

During Hurricane Harvey in 2017, which caused widespread flooding in Texas, we collaborated with local Rotary clubs to support recovery efforts. ShelterBox distributed emergency supplies, including tents and hygiene kits, ensuring families had the essentials needed to begin rebuilding their lives.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, we provided emergency shelter and essential supplies to families devastated by catastrophic flooding in Louisiana. Our aid included tents, blankets, cooking sets, and other vital items that helped families regain stability during a chaotic time.
