Deadly airstrikes have been launched across the Middle East, leaving tens of thousands of people without homes. Hundreds of people have been killed, and the violence is escalating. Instability is spreading across Lebanon, the Gulf, and other Middle Eastern states.
Families in Lebanon have been forced to flee to schools, communal buildings, or makeshift shelters. Many have no choice but to sleep outdoors on the streets or along Beirut’s beaches, too afraid to remain in residential areas as the strikes continue.
Lebanon, home to six million people, already hosts large Syrian and Palestinian refugee communities. Many were living in overcrowded or informal shelters long before this latest surge in violence. Now, even more displacement is hitting communities that are already stretched far beyond capacity.
The new wave of fighting has triggered mass internal displacement, deepening Lebanon’s already fragile humanitarian situation and sharply increasing the need for emergency shelter support, with families escaping with almost nothing.
Communities are being significantly impacted. Homes and infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed, fires have broken out in crowded neighborhoods, and entire districts have suffered extensive destruction.
As insecurity grows, several governments have urged their citizens to evacuate. Only limited commercial flights remain for those trying to leave danger zones.

ShelterBox is partnering with an organization in Lebanon to support people with the essential items they may need
Humanitarian groups warn that up to one million people in Lebanon may be newly displaced, with evacuation orders underway and tens of thousands of people already crossing into Syria since the escalation intensified.
Along with our partner organization, we will distribute essential items such as blankets, mattresses, food containers, solar lights, kitchen sets, and hygiene kits. These essential items will help families stay warm at night, store and cook what little food they may have, and maintain basic hygiene in crowded shelters.
We have responded in Lebanon before. In 2013, ShelterBox distributed tents to Syrian refugees in Lebanon, In 2024, we supported people in Lebanon displaced by conflict and those returning to their homes following the ceasefire. We are now drawing on our experience to support families again.
With the help of amazing supporters like you, we’re working hard to provide emergency shelter for vulnerable families around the world who have lost their homes after disaster.
In 2025 alone, ShelterBox supported more than 235,000 people with emergency shelter and essential aid across 18 countries and territories
