O’Melveny & Myers Supports ShelterBox USA for its Haitian Earthquake Disaster Program

To aid earthquake survivors in Port au Prince, Haiti, ShelterBox USA announces the donation of $100,000 from O’Melveny & Myers LLP, one of the most elite law firms in the country with 14 offices worldwide.
Through this one donation, ShelterBox will immediately deploy 100 fully-equipped boxes to its ShelterBox Response Team in Haiti. Each iconic green ShelterBox contains elements not provided by any other relief organization: a disaster relief tent for up to 10 people, stove, blankets and water filtration system, among other things. To date, more than 10,000 boxes have been delivered to Haiti by ShelterBox.
“In seconds, many Haitian families lost everything they owned and worked for. Through this generous gift, we will be able to provide families with items that are essential for survival,” states Veronica Brandon Miller, executive director, ShelterBox USA. “We can’t express our gratitude and appreciation enough for this gift.”
For O’Melveny & Myers, the donation evolved from its corporate values and principles of excellence, leadership, and citizenship.
“ShelterBox’s Haitian relief project and overall mission are in perfect alignment with the Firm’s longstanding commitment to community service and we are pleased to contribute to their important efforts,” said Arthur B. Culvahouse, Jr., Chair of O’Melveny & Myers.
Individual tax-deductible donations to ShelterBox USA can be made at www.shelterboxusa.org or via text message by sending SHELTER to 20222 for a one-time $10 donation. For information on corporate donations and contributions, please call Veronica Brandon Miller at 941-907-6036.
